Hervé Gatineau trained as a patissier in Toulouse and was head of pastry at Maison Blanc before establishing Gatineau in January 2007. Hervé strives for the perfect combination of flavours to delight even the most discerning of palates and continually looks to the fine patisseries of Paris for inspiration.
After three years in business we have built up an excellent reputation, with people calling from as far as Australia to pre-order our cakes. We are the only patisserie in Oxford that prepares all its gateaux and viennoiserie freshly on the premises.
Fabien Gautier, director and shop manager, brings a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry; and his energy and enthusiasm have been welcomed by all our regulars. We listen to our customers and care about their opinions. We are one of the few independent retailers left in North Oxford and have become an important part of the local community.
